Tampa, Fla.-based Environmental Pest Service (EPS) — one of the nation’s largest termite, pest control and lawn care companies — has hired experienced marketing communications executive Bob Wilgus Jr. as director of marketing. He brings more than 25 years of experience delivering business-to-business and business-to-consumer new client acquisition strategy development and implementation to businesses across a wide range of industries.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Bob to the team,” says Shawn Lucht, CEO of EPS. “He has the skillset and experience to help us grow our family of companies, and he also has the right personality for our organization, which, in today’s business environment, can be just as important.”
In his new role, Wilgus will plan and execute a marketing strategy focused on lead generation and new customer acquisition to help grow the company organically.
“I’m excited to be joining a team of consummate professionals who are focused on growth and profit as well as providing the best possible service to our customers,” Wilgus says. “I believe today’s consumers give us very clear indicators of what they like, what they respond to and how they want to be contacted. That ‘outside-in’ marketing paradigm is what I’ll be bringing to the organization.”
Prior to joining EPS, Wilgus served as director of marketing at LeadingResponse, a Tampa-based new client acquisition company serving the financial, senior living, home services, legal and professional services markets.
“LeadingResponse is similar to EPS in that they both have equity ownership and multiple brands under a corporate umbrella, so it was a comfortable move for me,” Wilgus says. “In my prior role, I had a completely closed system of marketing lead generation and tracking. I knew where every lead came from, the exact cost per lead and its final disposition. I want to bring that rigor to EPS so we can better manage marketing dollars and provide the sales team with the highest quality leads at the lowest possible cost.”
Prior to working at LeadingResponse, Wilgus held various positions during his several years at financial services marketing firm RME360, including director of marketing and strategic digital communications, director of business and product development, and director of corporate communications. He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing communications from Westfield State University in Westfield, Mass.
“EPS and all its brands provide a marketing person with a very nimble environment,” Wilgus says. “It’s small enough to respond quickly to opportunities and has a strong financial position. I’m very excited to join the EPS team.”
