In August, the Philadelphia Insectarium & Butterfly Pavilion was robbed of 7,000 of its insects — and Orkin Pest Control stepped up in support. To help get the bugs back, the Atlanta, Ga.-based pest management company implemented a match campaign with GoFundMe, donating $1 per like and $5 per share on a Facebook post about the effort.
On Saturday, Nov. 3, Orkin presented a check in the amount of $10,000 to the Philadelphia Insectarium & Butterfly Pavilion at its re-grand opening event, the Philadelphia Oddities Expo.
“Orkin is proud to support the Philadelphia Insectarium & Butterfly Pavilion, because they too, want to help educate the world’s future scientists, our youth, with fun and interactive resources to get them engaged,” says a spokesperson for Orkin.
