Five days before leaving office Jan. 9, former Ohio Governor John Kasich signed into law Senate Bill 255 to establish the Ohio Home Inspection Licensing Board.
The law mandates that the state of Ohio develops, implements and enforces licensing requirements for home inspectors. These licensing requirements must include 80 hours of online or classroom training.
“We expect that the formal licensing of home inspectors will begin in late 2019, or early 2020,” says Chuck Pulaski, operations manager of Inspection Certification Associates (ICA). “This is a great advancement in home inspections for the state of Ohio and its residents.”
