How many pest management professionals can say they helped the White House staff during the pandemic? Quest Termite & Pest Management’s Chris Snyder can.
“When President Trump announced his positive COVID-19 test [on Oct. 2, 2020], we were called in the middle of the night to service the vehicle his staff members were possibly in, along with the home base where that van resides,” says Snyder, president of the Hellertown, Pa.-based firm. “These vehicles traveled back and forth from Pennsylvania to New York regularly.”
Disinfection service emergency calls became routine for Quest in 2020.
As an example, Snyder notes that whenever a construction client had a worker with a positive COVID-19 test, Quest could get a call at any hour to request immediate service, as the jobsite would not allow anyone on the premises until disinfection was complete.
Snyder says that even as the pandemic dies down, it’s crucial to continue to be up front with customers. “There is no 100 percent guarantee of not getting COVID-19, just because we were there and disinfected a facility. It’s only one step the client takes to minimize risk,” he says. “As essential workers, we continue to educate customers about the need to keep their environments clean.”
