“Your bird deterrents don’t work!” We hear this excuse all too many times and to a certain extent, it is true, kind of. This next part is extremely important, so don’t gloss over it. Effective deterrents have specific use cases.

Bird deterrents are categorized for specific purposes or bird behaviors. One deterrent does not fix every bird problem. For example, many issues arise when attempting to mitigate nesting birds with spikes or sound or visual deterrents. Nesting birds require physical exclusion efforts, such as netting. This is because nesting birds think differently; their behavior and instincts dramatically change when nesting activity begins. They quickly pivot to return and protect.

So, when you identify nesting behavior at your next site evaluation, what should you remember? Nesting equals Netting. This will save you valuable time and effort.
