FMC True Champions will host “Ant Control: Go Fast or Slow?” as the latest installment of its First Friday webinar series. It will take place Dec. 1 at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.
The webinar will be presented by Dr. Siavash Taravati, who will discuss the benefits and limits of various active ingredients as related to ant control.
The monthly webinars are free to attend; however, only FMC True Champions members can receive continuing education unit (CEU) credits. Dr. Siavash Taravati is a research entomologist and an extension agent with over 10 years of experience in pest control and applied entomology. He is a regular speaker at various California pest control workshops and provides pest control training to his clientele groups such as structural and non-structural pesticide applicators, housing managers and maintenance supervisors, and public agencies. He is a member of the University of California’s integrated pest management (IPM) program and covers four densely populated counties in Southern California. He serves as an unofficial liaison among pest management professionals (PMPs), California state public agencies and the public. He usually provides trainings on the latest pest control tools and methods, structural integrated pest management, proper pest identification, best management practices for specific pests, and pest control laws and regulations. He also provides consultations to PMPs, master gardeners, the general public, housing managers and governmental employees.

January First Friday webinar
The first FMC First Friday webinar in 2024 will be “Bed Bug Control” on Jan. 5, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.
The webinar will be presented by Brian Mount, BCE, the urban product development lead at FMC Professional Solutions. His presentation will focus on basic biology and control and discuss why bed bugs are increasing (travel internationally, resistance, etc.), identification of bites, inspection techniques and other relevant aspects of a good control program. The webinar is one hour and will provide CEU credits for professionals from 30-40 states.
“Bed bug control is a staple topic, it’s one that never seems to reduce in need or popularity and Brian has been one of our most requested presenters in post-webinar feedback,” says Mike Sisti, North America Marketing Manager at FMC Professional Solutions. “This is a great start to our program in 2024 and sets the tone for other top pests in February and March.”
