On Friday, Feb. 15, the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) announced that Howard Kurtz will be a keynote speaker for its Legislative Day event later this month. Kurtz is a political analyst, author and the host of Media Buzz for Fox News. He replaces KT McFarland, who had to withdraw from the program for a family emergency.

Kurtz will join Legislative Day attendees for the breakfast and keynote presentation sponsored by Control Solutions Inc. (CSI) on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 8 a.m.

In Kurtz’s no-holds-barred presentation, attendees will gain a sharper understanding of how today’s media environment shapes opinions and, ultimately, policies that will determine the future of their organizations. His career has also included serving as Washington bureau chief of Newsweek, host of the CNN program Reliable Sources, and New York bureau chief for The Washington Post.

“We are very happy to have Howard join us for Legislative Day this year,” says Ty Ferraro, CSI marketing director. “We are longtime supporters of the structural pest management industry and through our sponsorship of the Tuesday morning breakfast at Legislative Day each year, we strive to offer attendees informative and enjoyable speakers. It’s unfortunate that KT couldn’t join us this year, but we wish her the best and know that Howard is a gifted presenter that will be remembered by all those in attendance.

NPMA’s annual Legislative Day event is continuing in its 32nd year, amid a new Congress and counting down to the 2020 election cycle.

“This year, we are anticipating a great Legislative Day program, as nearly 400 PMPs gather in Washington, D.C. to advocate for issues that are important to the pest management industry,” says NPMA CEO Dominique Stumpf, CMP, CAE. “We appreciate CSI for their ongoing support of this event in addition to all our conference sponsors.”

The event allows the pest management industry to speak with a unified voice on Capitol Hill to build and enhance relationships with parties on both sides of the aisle.
