Modern acquires EHS Pest Services

Brunswick, Maine-based Modern Pest Services, an Anticimex company, has acquired Environmental Health Services Inc. (EHS Pest) of Norwood, Mass. Terms were not disclosed.

EHS was founded in 1985 and provides pest control in Boston, metro-west, along Massachusetts’ south shore, and into Rhode Island.

“Our partnership with Modern Pest Services and The Anticimex Group will further grow our vision for environmentally responsible, humane, cutting-edge, and preventive pest control,” John Stellberger, EHS president, says in a press release. “I am excited to continue our efforts with such a strong commitment from Modern and the resources of Anticimex, a global pest control leader.”

Dennis Dube, president of Modern, agrees. “I’m thrilled to announce that the newest addition to the Modern family is EHS,” he says in a press release. “From day one of our discussions, I could not have more impressed with their organization, their leadership team, and the total focus on client service. For the clients of Modern Pest services, this latest addition means more great news: Today we also announce a new branch located on the south shore of Massachusetts. This means more dedicated team members and faster routing in and around the Boston area.”

Modern’s operations in Massachusetts will be divided between the new Norwood branch, and the current Woburn branch. This is Modern’s eighth acquisition since 2017.

Since 1945, and with more than 200 team members, Modern provides pest control solutions to more than 32,000 homes and businesses in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Vermont.

Founded in 1934 and based in Sweden, Anticimex operates in 16 countries and has more than 5,000 employees worldwide. In the United States, Anticimex operates through its five platform companies: Modern Pest Services, Brunswick, Maine; American Pest Management, Fulton, Md.; Viking Pest Control, Bridgewater, N.J.; Turner Pest Control, Jacksonville, Fla.; Killingsworth Environmental, Charlotte, N.C.; and JP McHale, Buchanan, N.Y.
