Parsippany, N.J.-based Western Pest Services, a subsidiary of Rollins Inc., donated a professional disinfection treatment at the local Nutley Fire Department in New Jersey.
Western Commercial Account Executive Rosalie Alers set up the treatment donation for the firehouse. “I thought we should give back and this is just one way we can,” she said in a news release. “Doing something for our community always makes me feel good – especially when it’s for our first responders. They dedicate their life to helping us and I wanted to thank them.”
Western Pest Services added Western PurClean to its offerings last year during the COVID-19 pandemic. The treatment works to kill a large spectrum of pathogens and help stop the spread of viruses. In addition to misting into difficult-to-reach areas, the treatment focuses on wiping down high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, countertops and seating areas.
“Western has a very good reputation in pest services and it was good to know they now provide a tremendous cleaning service,” Deputy Fire Chief Paul Cafone said in the news release. “It’s just the next level for Western and it certainly helps us in the Township of Nutley at the Fire Department. We appreciate their offer to do this free session showing us their capabilities and new services.”

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has deemed the product used in the Western PurClean disinfectant treatment to have the lowest level toxicity rating and contains no ozone-harming compounds, making it low risk for people and pets as well as the environment. It is rated “no rinse required on food contact surfaces” by NSF International so it can be used on food preparation surfaces without the need to wash or rinse the area with water after.
Last year, the company donated disinfection services to another local firehouse, the Talleyville Fire Co., as well as for a local Boy Scout Troop’s annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser.
Western Pest Services has been providing pest control services since 1928. The company serves customers in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
