In “Supernova: M&A in the Late Stages of the Pest Control Consolidation Boom,” a compilation of nine regional webinars the company recently held, Potomac Managing Director Paul Giannamore discusses how global economic trends have changed, potential tax law changes, and what those in the pest control industry can expect from valuations and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the future.

Joining the conversation and sharing their experiences are pest control company senior executives and M&A directors, as well as former owners who sold their businesses. Guests include Alex Nigh of Rentokil, Matt Whiting of Rollins, David Billingsly of Anticimex, Shane Hoy of Pro Pacific, Bill Talon of Turner Pest, Kyle Varona formerly of Fahey Pest and Lawn, Mike Schmitt of American Pest and former head of M&A at Anticimex North America, Tony Sfreddo formerly of Triple S Services, Jim McHale of JP McHale Pest Management, Paul Bergmann of Viking Pest, Mike Givlin of Certus, Andrew Klein of Terminix, and Jay Brown of Terminix.

With pest control company valuations up over 300 percent in the past five years, changes are on the horizon, according to Giannamore. High federal debt levels and inflation could decrease valuation levels, he said.

In the video, he explains how he helps companies get the most from the deals they make, and shares what the largest acquirers think about valuation. “At the end of the day, the acquirer is buying a stream of cashflow going into the future.”
