The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA) introduced its latest video project called, Do Not Disturb, to show the public just how easy it is to accidentally disturb stinging or biting insects.
Wasps, yellowjackets and hornets are a common nuisance at cookouts in late summer and early fall as populations are at their peak. PPMA is taking this time to not only remind consumers about the threats posed by stinging insects, but to also equip them with easy-to-follow tips to minimize their risks of pest stings or bites.
“While most people are likely aware of stinging insects’ defense mechanisms, many may not realize how little of effort is required to solicit a reaction from these pests,” said Dr. Jim Fredericks, BCE, executive director of PPMA. “Our mission with the production of Do Not Disturb is to demonstrate just how easy it is to accidentally disturb a stinging or biting insect colony, and the lengths that these pests will go to in order to protect themselves as a result.”
Each of the three Do Not Disturb episodes is designed to keep viewers on the edge of their seats as they watch how these insects can react when an outside force disrupts their nest. Even better, viewers will leave each episode with actionable steps they can take to avoid encountering these pests at all costs.
New episodes can be found on DoNotDisturb.pestworld.org and @PestWorld social media channels.
