Registration opens for 2025 ICUP conference

The 11th International Conference on Urban Pests (ICUP) will take place June 29 to July 2, 2025, in Lund, Sweden. Individuals interested in attending the event can take advantage of the super-early-bird registration discount of 25 percent ending Jan. 15, 2025. After that date, there will still be a modest discount for bookings made by March 31, 2025. Registrations from April 1, 2025 on are at the full price.

Included within the registration fee is a range of items, including the opening reception, conference breaks, lunches and the conference dinner. Those interested can register here.

The ICUP was founded by 2024 PMP Hall of Fame inductee Dr. William H. Robinson. The 2025 conference will take place at AF-Borgen, the Academic Society (Akademiska Föreningen) castle in the center of the medieval city of Lund in southern Sweden.

The show’s organizing committee aims to highlight urban areas as environments where biodiversity is perceived as both an opportunity and a threat. In these areas, citizens are in close contact with other species, so quickly develop technologies that shape the relationship between humans and these other species. To reflect this, ICUP 2025 has the general theme of “Smart and Sustainable Management of Urban Animals.“

Dr. Jette Knudsen, chair of the ICUP 2025 Organizing Committee, thanks all those who submitted abstracts, adding, “We are now working hard to review and process all the abstracts and plan to have an outline program early in the new year.”

Previous conferences have taken place in Cambridge, England (1993); Edinburgh, Scotland (1996); Prague, Czech Republic (1999); Charleston, S.C., USA (2002); Singapore (2005); Budapest, Hungary (2008); Ouro Preto, Brazil (2011); Zurich, Switzerland (2014); Birmingham, England (2017); and Barcelona, Spain (2022).
