Three pest management professionals from Wil-Kil Pest Control earned the Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) certificate from the Entomological Society of America (ESA).
Earning the ACE designation include Jeff Daane, service manager, and Terry Witter, regional manager, both at the company’s Sun Prairie, Wis., location, and Norm Shonkwiler, regional manager at the Appleton, Wis., location.
The ACE certification recognizes pest management professionals with strong experience in insect-related work and whose training in entomology has been achieved through continuing education, self-study and on-the-job experience. The ESA administers the ACE program.
To achieve ACE status, a pest-control operator must have a minimum of five years of verifiable pest management experience, the knowledge and ability to pass a rigorous test on insect pest control, a current U.S. pesticide applicators license, provide two letters of professional recommendation and a willingness to adhere to the ACE Code of Ethics.
“We are thrilled for Jeff, Terry and Norm as they become the newest ACE certified pest management professionals,” said Shane McCoy, BCE, director of quality and technical training at Wil-Kil Pest Control. “This designation is very important in our industry and showcases their vast pest management experience and knowledge as well as their commitment to our clients.”
McCoy was recently certified as a Board Certified Entomologist (BCE) by the ESA. McCoy is the eighth BCE in the state of Wisconsin and the second at Wil-Kil.
Established in 1924, Wil-Kil Pest Control provides pest management services throughout the upper Midwest, including Wisconsin, Minnesota, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, parts of Iowa and all of northern Illinois. Wil-Kil is an operating division of Copesan Services.
