The Professional Women in Pest Management (PWIPM) Council, an affiliate group of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA),  has offered local networks grants of up to $500.

The grants are offered to help support the PWIPM local networks host state events.

Fundraisers throughout the year help support local networks to ensure every woman in the pest management industry gains the benefits of PWIPM. Grants up to $500 are available throughout the year, as funds allow. A single local network will not receive more than $500 per year.

“The greatest hurdle most PWIPM local networks face in their first few years is paying for events and creating promotional materials,” said Allie Allen, PWIPM staff liaison with the NPMA. “The PWIPM Council heard that need, and the members are excited to be able to meet it. We want to thank everyone who has participated in a PWIPM fundraiser at an NPMA event or by buying gear at pwipm.org — that’s what makes this possible.”

To apply for a grant, a local network representative will need to fill out a PWIPM survey. The application will be reviewed by the PWIPM council for approval.

PWIPM’s mission is to attract, develop and support women in the pest management industry through educational programs, resources and peer networking.

The current PWIPM local networks include: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Western New York, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and New England, which includes Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont and Massachusetts.

PWIPM also reaches internationally with networks in Australia, Canada, Mexico, Philippines, the United Kingdom and Pakistan. (Editor’s note: Read more about Pakistan’s first PWIPM meeting last December, here.)
