Air-Scent International, a provider of professional air care, acquired Sani-Air Associated Products to further its global position in the commercial air freshener market. Both companies are based in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Air-Scent International’s founder Bob Surloff is considered to be the inventor of the first fan-operated air freshener in 1946. The company now holds more than 20 patents and provides ambient scenting diffusers, molecular odor neutralizing products and essential oil refills.
Pest management professionals use Air-Scent’s air fresheners as part of total facility care programs. Air-Scent’s products are also used by scent marketing companies, air freshener service providers and a number of commercial, industrial and institutional end-user businesses.
Sani-Air has served the janitorial and sanitation industry for more than 65 years. The company owns California Scents Professional, which is headquartered in Irvine, Calif., and manufactures the API and Sani-Air product lines in Pennsylvania.
“We see Sani-Air’s stellar product line as a seamless extension to our current offerings, and one that further enhances our ability to provide one-stop-shop convenience to a global clientele,” says Arnold Zlotnik, CEO and president of Air-Scent. “We’ve worked very hard to make this acquisition a seamless integration and look forward to welcoming Sani-Air’s customers and employees to the Air-Scent family. We are confident that our combined capabilities will deliver a compelling valuable proposition for our customers across numerous segments and key markets.”
Sani-Air’s production and office staff will be joining the teams at Air-Scent’s manufacturing facility and headquarters in Pittsburgh.
