PMP‘s Editorial Advisory Board and Regular Contributors
Judy Black, BCE: “A paid-time-off combination bucket, rather than separate buckets for vacation, personal days and sick time. Also, discounted memberships for warehouse clubs like Costco or Sam’s Club.”
Bobby Jenkins: “Time off and flexible schedules. Often the use of time off, rather than cash bonuses, is preferred. Also, the benefit of a work-from-home or some type of hybrid schedule will be viewed as a perk long after the pandemic-related stay-at-home mandates are lifted.”
Michael Broder: “Work-from-home options for office staff will be a benefit that is here to stay, well after the pandemic ends.”
Doug Foster: “With all the odd hours we have to work sometimes, flex hours and four-day workweeks would benefit some workers, especially those with childcare demands. Also, a health and fitness benefit to encourage a healthy lifestyle, with an annual reimbursement of up to $600 for a gym membership, yoga classes, exercise equipment, etc.”
Dr. Faith Oi: “While deadlines must be met, the flexibility to get the work done outside of ‘normal’ — whatever that means these days — business hours or to work remotely on occasion.”
Eric Scherzinger: “As VP of procurement at my company, I ask our vendors if they would give our employees discounts for using their services. For example, the dealership where we purchase our vehicles, and our cell phone provider offer our employees a discount.”
Kurt Scherzinger: “For programs to incentivize behaviors you want your employees to adopt, try using gift cards or larger awards.”
Desiree Straubinger: “Supporting employees who work from home by purchasing furniture, computers, printers and webcams for the home office. The cost of these purchases traditionally was on individuals who chose to work from home, but now that many companies have employees are strictly working from home, companies need to take on the financial burden for these expensive items.”
