The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), which serves as the public outreach arm of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), is celebrating Termite Awareness Week, March 7-13.
The PPMA is encouraging pest management professionals (PMPs) to take part in the annual observance of Termite Awareness Week. PMPs can utilize PPMA’s marketing materials to continue educating consumers about termite threats and prevention.
“Termites cause an astounding $5 billion in property damage in the United States annually, a cost that is typically not covered by homeowners’ insurance,” said PPMA Executive Director Cindy Mannes. “We are calling on our industry partners to help ensure homeowners understand that a termite infestation is not a do-it-yourself task and that pest control professionals are standing at the ready to help them protect one of their biggest investments — their home.”
This annual designation is recognized by Chase’s Calendar of Events and serves as a crucial reminder to homeowners about the property risks and costly damage associated with termites.
To participate, use the hashtag #TermiteAwarenessWeek in all social media posts when sharing termite content. PPMA also created an exclusive 2021 Termite Awareness Week toolkit, which offers professional marketing materials for PMPs to share on their company websites and social media pages. Contributors to the PPMA can receive exclusive access to these materials on PPMAMainframe.org.
