Sprague Pest Solutions adds operations manager to Phoenix branch

Sprague Pest Solutions, a commercial pest management services provider, promoted Michael Torrez to operations manager for the Phoenix, Ariz. team. The promotion of Torrez marks the first time that the Phoenix branch will have a dedicated operations manager.

Torrez joined Sprague in 2022 and, per the news release, “has demonstrated strong leadership skills, operational expertise and a commitment to delivering strong service.” In his new role, he will oversee the operational efficiency of the Phoenix team.

“Seeing the growth of Michael and our Phoenix team in just a few short years has been nothing short of inspiring,“ said Kolbin Bertilson, regional manager overseeing the Arizona market. “His promotion is a testament to the caliber of talent that Sprague develops. His leadership will take us to the next level, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for this team.”

Based in Tacoma, Wash., Sprague entered the Arizona market in 2020. Since then, its Phoenix team has “experienced tremendous growth and established itself as a trusted partner in pest management. Torrez’s promotion reflects Sprague’s ongoing investment in the Arizona market and its dedication to fostering leaders within the organization,” the news release explains.

According to Sprague’s history page on its website, the company was founded in Spokane, Wash., in 1926 by W.B. Sprague to serve Eastern Washington, and soon after opened a second location in Tacoma, Wash., to serve customers in the western half of the Evergreen State. It was purchased in 1931 by A.H. Treleven Sr., whose grandson Larry Treleven is a Pest Management Professional Hall of Famer (Class of 2016). Now in its fourth generation, the Treleven family still leads the company today.
