The Bronx Zoo is once again celebrating Valentine’s Day with its “Name a Roach” event.

The annual tradition allows donors to symbolically name a Bronx Zoo Madagascar hissing cockroach after a loved one or a not so loved one. Over 56,000 cockroaches have been named since the start of the program and thousands of hopeless romantics from around the world have named the Bronx Zoo’s famous Madagascar hissing cockroaches after friends, family, loved ones and not-so-loved ones.

For a $15 donation, guests will receive a digital certificate featuring the name of a loved one or ex-loved one, chosen for the roach. Guests can upgrade their donation to receive extra gifts like a roach belt bag, beanie, a plush or a Wild Encounter where you can virtually meet a live Madagascar hissing cockroach, chat with experts and meet another surprise guest.
