In a speech, her mother, a 1995 recipient of the same scholarship, highlighted the profound, multi-generational impact of the pest control industry.
Honoring Kevin R. Moran, BCE – Professional of the Year
As a dedicated mentor, trainer and industry advocate, he has helped pest management professionals develop their skills, navigate industry challenges and grow into leaders. Whether conducting training sessions, offering guidance or sharing insights, Kevin has consistently made himself available to those seeking knowledge and support.
In addition to training and mentorship, Kevin has been a steadfast advocate for the industry, working to protect and advance the profession at the state and national levels. His efforts in public policy, education and industry collaboration have helped shape the future of pest management in New England and beyond.
Women of Excellence- Molly Moran, BCE
Molly has dedicated her time to public policy, mentorship and leadership. She has played a key role in NEPMA, serving on committees such as PWIPM, Public Policy, Fundraising & Scholarship and Vendor Relations. Her work on the Massachusetts Pesticide Advisory Committee and with NPMA’s Public Policy Committee has been instrumental in shaping policies that protect and strengthen the industry.
Vendor of the Year – Kevin P. Moran
Kevin has played a crucial role in NEPMA’s Public Health Agent Rodent Training, and has attended multiple presentations, provided rodent control materials and engaged with health agents to enhance their knowledge and effectiveness.
With FORSHAW’s support, Kevin has also been instrumental in underwriting the program to ensure attendees have access to essential training resources. Additionally, Kevin spearheaded an initiative to stock carbon dioxide cylinders in New England, significantly reducing costs for NEPMA members and improving access to burrow treatment solutions.
Mark Weintraub Scholarship recipient – Emily Layton
Emily Layton’s essay, “What the Pest Control Industry Means to Me,” captured the essence of what makes this profession so much more than just a business—it is about trust, relationships and community service.
Emily has gained a deep appreciation for the industry’s role in solving problems, building connections and creating opportunities. Her $3,000 scholarship will help her further her education and continue her family’s entrepreneurial legacy.
