Identify foraging locations before placing bait

Studies on foraging behavior have shown that rats prefer to eat in areas where they feel safe from predators. Preferred foraging locations are often under or close to cover, where the rats feel safe to feed. These may or may not correspond to areas of high rat activity.

In situations where spacing is not dictated by regulations, identification of foraging areas prior to deploying bait may increase bait uptake. If you are having trouble identifying foraging locations, chew cards are a helpful tool that can reveal foraging locations within 24 to 48 hours.
