All spiders are predators — and the majority enter structures unintentionally. The probability of being bitten by one is very rare; in fact, most claims of bites probably were not from a spider.

Control tactics for spiders are universal for all species. Usually, pesticide applications are minimal. Perimeter applications and spot treatments in areas where species are likely to harbor are best. Mechanical and prevention tactics are a must. Sweeping, bagging, removal and disposal of materials will help prevent establishment. Preventing web-building via sanitation and cleanliness helps reduce establishment and chemical use.
