Hymenopteran pests can range from a solitary bee to a group of ants. Some are pollinators as well. Regard each “group” as a separate entity, and consider the following:

  • Flushing aerosols are good for solitary individuals.
  • Foam solutions with residual insecticides are good for spraying nests.
  • For ground-nesting species, try using a dust.
  • For social groups, concentrate on eliminating the queen. You might be able to treat the whole colony regarding some groups, as compared to other groups where you might have to decimate the colony workers.
