Calif. PMP aids Ugandan children’s home

Kyle Finley, CEO of Twin Home Services — a provider of termite inspections, pest control and home inspections based in North Highlands, Calif. — is traveling to Uganda with the xHope organization to participate in an annual Christmas and education celebration at Redeemer House Children’s Home.

At the celebration, xHope staff and volunteers will have the opportunity to meet and build relationships with more than 80 families. The organization is anticipating around 100 children and upward of 300 guests.

xHope plans to provide solar lamps and a Christmas dinner to each family, as well as a new backpack with school supplies and a surprise Christmas gift to each child.

After visiting Uganda with xHope for the first time last year, Finley knew he wanted to get more involved. He is now xHope’s vice president and goes every six months.

“I just started last year when I realized I really wanted to give back to the less fortunate with the success we have had,” says Finley. “I wanted our entire staff to know this is not just about us and that there is a lot of need in the world.”

In addition to its partnership with Redeemer House, xHope is about to start building a school on its 5-acre property in Uganda to educate up to 300 children, says Finley.

xHope — a nonprofit based in Sacramento, Calif., that focuses on empowering at-risk youth in the United States and in Uganda — is asking for donations to its Christmas campaign to fund the annual celebration.
