ABOUT ROSE PEST SOLUTIONS

Rose Pest Solutions traces its roots to Pest Management Professional (PMP) Hall of Famer Solomon Rose (Class of 2001), who founded a company in 1860 that lives on today in separate flourishing firms in St. Louis, Mo.; Troy, Mich.; and Northfield, Ill.

According to a comprehensive history timeline on Rose’s website, Solomon Rose created an early form of pest control product, better known as arsenic, in the mid-1800s. In 1860, he was commissioned by the U.S. Army during the Civil War to help keep soldiers in tent camps protected from rats.

In 1930, Solomon’s son Daniel sold the Rose Chicago franchise to C. Norman Dold, and the Dold family continues to lead the Illinois operations today. Norman’s son Bob, and his wife, Judy, are PMP Hall of Famers (Class of 2002) in recognition of the work they’ve done on behalf of the industry and their community. Bob and Judy are joined in leadership of the company today by their son Bob Dold Jr.
