Extending the parade route of PMPs

In Pest Management Professional’s (PMP’s) “Photo Finish” for the July 2021 issue, we feature a variety of floats, cars and costumes from various pest management firms who have participated in community parades. As promised in the issue, here are some more great examples. And don’t forget to submit your own by emailing pmpeditor@northcoastmedia.net: We’ll update this post as appropriate!

In local parades, Expert Pest Control is represented by a 1955 Chevy Sedan Delivery. “We typically throw out Frisbees with our logo on it, and candy,” says Lisa Honnig, who co-owns the Burlington, N.J.-based firm with her husband, Ken. “It’s a fun way to get engagement with the community as well.” PHOTO: EXPERT PEST CONTROL

The Nitro Funny Car that California Pest Management sponsors, driven by Jeff Arend, is meant for the racetrack, not Main Street. Still, Jim Harmon, an entomologist and president of the La Verne, Calif.-based firm, notes it’s been great publicity for his company — and the car appears in parades now and then.
