The NCOMPASS Environmental Monitoring System, new from Nisus, leverages cutting-edge sensors and an advanced analytics platform to provide detailed insights about the health of a structure, allowing pest management professionals (PMPs) to track trends that indicate conditions which may be conducive for pests, mold, and fungal activity.
“The NCOMPASS system is a state-of-the-art platform that can benefit every home and commercial structure, offering data-based insights for more effective control strategies and a new level of peace of mind for customers,” Jim Sparks, Nisus’ senior director of product sales, noted in a news release.
NCOMPASS sensors are placed in areas of a structure that are vulnerable to environmental changes. The sensors can be placed in wall voids, crawlspaces, attics, near plumbing penetrations, and other strategic locations to provide localized monitoring. The sensors monitor for relative humidity, temperature and wood moisture. They also monitor acoustic anomalies that can indicate the presence of insect pests and wildlife. A proprietary app allows service providers to manage customer accounts.
“A lot happens inside a home that you can’t see during a routine service visit,” Harry Bryan, Nisus’ VP of business development, said in the news release. “The NCOMPASS system uses advanced monitoring technology and artificial intelligence to alert the PMP when conditions fall outside of optimal ranges for the environmental conditions it monitors.”
NCOMPASS Project Leader Kim Kelley-Tunis, Nisus’ VP of regulatory and technical services, agrees. “We go where the science goes,” she said in the news release. “As technology and research evolve, the more opportunities we can identify to better serve our customers and provide them with the most well-informed solution strategies available.”
