Dr. Bobby Corrigan, renowned expert on rodent pest management practices and a PMP Hall of Famer (Class of 2008), will lead a two-day Rodent Academy as part of the Kansas Pest Control Association’s (KPCA’s) statewide training programs.

The program will be held Nov. 12-13, 2019, at the IGP Building on the campus of Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan.

“We are honored that Dr. Corrigan is able to bring his world-class rodent academy to pest management professionals in Kansas,” says Spencer Duncan, KPCA executive director. “His knowledge is extensive and his program is incisive and unique. For any pest management professional involved in rodent control this is a rare and can’t-miss opportunity.”

Dr. Corrigan has been active in pest management for more than 30 years. He specializes in rodent management on a national and international scale and serves as a rodent control consultant for several cities in the United States.

Dr. Corrigan has published more than 160 technical articles and authored or co-authored four textbooks — including serving as editor for the Truman’s Guide to Pest Management Operations — and multiple book chapters. He has lectured in 46 states and 12 countries.

He has received numerous honors, including the Excellence in IPM award from the New York State Integrated Pest Management Program at Cornell University and the City of New York Distinguished Service Award for innovative research addressing control of rats.

Goals for the two-day course include improved management of rodent populations through better understanding of biology, behavior and habitat of rodents; helping attendees better understand factors that contribute to rodent infestations; and training to develop site-specific problem-solving skills and more effective communication with customers.

The course curriculum will include health significance of rodents; rodents and allergens; biology and behavior; integrated pest management (IPM) overview; pesticide labels and regulations; bait boxes; alternative tools and techniques; mouse IPM in homes and apartments; rodent control and hands-on training.

Space is limited, so those interested are encouraged to register as soon as possible here.
