On May 12 and 13, Bug Off Pest Control Center’s Andy Linares attended Chemotecnica’s 22° Jornadas Técnicas Integrales Para Empresas de Control de Plagas, or the 22nd edition of the Integral Technical Days for Pest Control Companies, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This industry conference was hosted once again by insecticide manufacturer Chemotecnica Division Salud Ambiental. It is considered to be Latin America’s largest and most influential industry event. Linares, who is fluent in Spanish, was invited to present two talks at this year’s conference as he has done in the past.
It featured about three dozen talks and nearly two dozen exhibitors, including PelGar, which sponsored Linares’ presentations. Conference topics ranged from mosquitoes, flies, bed bugs, rodents, pheromones and wildlife to insurance, marketing and artificial intelligence.
After a full day’s work on Saturday, Linares took a red-eye, 10-hour flight to Buenos Aires and arrived on Sunday. Chemotecnica Business Manager Guillermo Tarelli had invited speakers and exhibitors to an Argentinian cookout, known as a roast or an asado, at his home.
Linares built in some vacation time after the event but was soon back to work at Bug Off, the New York City-based distribution and training center he founded in 1987. Learn more about this annual event at JornadasChemotecnica.com.ar.
