Orlando Business Journal selected Suzanne Graham, director of government affairs at Massey Services, as one of its Women Who Mean Business award winners.
The annual award honors women who exceed expectations in their roles, drive business success, industry growth, workforce development and community advancement.
Graham has been with Massey Services since 2012, serving as the company’s representative for federal, state and local government officials, community stakeholders and allied industries. In her role, she is also responsible for government relations and tracks laws at the state and federal levels that impact the pest management and landscape industries. In 2022, Graham initiated a plan to achieve the standardization of all the agreements in the states where Massey Services operates.
Graham is a member of the Public Policy Committee for the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), the Political Action Committee of the Florida Home Builders Association, the Florida Irrigation Society Governmental Affairs Committee, and the Public Policy Committee for the National Association of Landscape Professionals. Additionally, Graham is a member of the Professional Women in Pest Management, an organization supported by the NPMA, to help educate, mentor, support, and network with other women in the pest industry.
Massey Services announces regional restructuring
Massey Services recently announced a restructuring of its northeast and west Florida regions to optimize service efficiency as part of its commitment to total customer satisfaction.
The northeast region, which includes the Jacksonville, Fla., market, and the west region, which includes the Tampa, Fla., market, will both be divided by two service types: Consumer (Pest and Termite) and Landscape Care. Under the restructuring, Marcelo Aponte and Philip Chatham will assume leadership roles as newly appointed regional managers in the Northeast region. The west region will be managed by Frank Oliva and Rick Block, who have both served as regional managers for the last several years.
Marcelo Aponte joined the Massey Services team in 2016 as a general manager in training. Most recently, he held the role of division manager for the three service centers involved in the acquisition of Peninsular Pest Control in downtown Jacksonville. In this capacity, Marcelo played a key role in integrating and fostering relationships with new team members and expanding Massey’s customer base. Aponte will now serve as the regional manager of Consumer Northeast.
Philip Chatham, who joined Massey in January 2013 as a sales inspector, has demonstrated unwavering dedication throughout various roles held in Operations. Most recently, he served as the general manager of Massey’s Clermont service center and was just recognized as a 2023 General Manager of the Year for the company. Under Chatham’s promotion, he will take on the role of regional manager of Landscape Northeast.
Frank Oliva has successfully served as the regional manager of the West Florida Region since January 2021. In recognition of his exceptional leadership, Oliva will transition into the role of regional manager of the Consumer West Region. In this new position, he will continue to spearhead the Pest/Termite Service Centers in the West Florida Market.
Rick Block, who joined Massey in December 2011 as a general manager in training, has demonstrated unwavering dedication throughout various roles in Operations. Most recently, Block served as the regional manager of the Northeast Florida Region. In his new role, he will take on the position of regional manager of the Landscape West Region.
Massey Services promotes employee
Massey Services recently promoted Cannon Church to senior director of strategic initiatives.
Church will oversee the company’s acquisition due diligence and closings, corporate space planning, and Salesforce implementation.
Church began his career with Massey in 2012 when he joined the company as a commercial market and sales director. In 2017, he was promoted to Director of Strategic Initiatives and was responsible for overseeing the implementation of the new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software system across the entire company. He also played a critical role in the development of Massey’s PCI compliance to ensure the security of the company’s payment transactions.
Church graduated from Florida State University with his bachelor’s in liberal studies and earned his master of business administration from Rollins College, Crummer Graduate School of Business in 2007.
