On May 1, Compass Pest Management, a Greenville, S.C.-based pest control firm renowned for more than 25 years of dedicated service in Northeast Georgia and South Carolina, finalized the acquisition of Putman Pest Management (PPM), based in Taylors, S.C.

PPM is a veteran-owned company that faithfully served hundreds of residents and businesses in Greenville, Simpsonville, Taylors, Greer, Mauldin, and other neighboring areas in Upstate South Carolina. It has addressed diverse needs such as moisture control, termite remediation, pest and rodent management, among others.

In a news release, PPM co-owners Richard Windsor and Marty Putman expressed their satisfaction with the unification after roughly a year of careful consideration. They will remain vigilant members in the Taylors branch as technicians and administrators, ensuring a seamless transition for their customers.

Windsor said they wanted to unite with a company that embraced PPM’s founding principles: providing excellent service and developing long-lasting relationships with their customers.

“My goal is to be a great resource to Compass after this acquisition,” Windsor said in the news release. “While our customers may see a couple of new faces on occasion, the service will remain the same. I’m looking forward to helping Compass expand its base while continuing to impact our communities with great service.”

Like PPM, Compass Pest Management is a local, family-owned, Greenville firm that has served the Upstate for nearly three decades. When Compass President and Owner Philip Smith started Compass in 1995, his desire was to provide the finest service with care and excellence, just as Marty Putman and Richard Windsor did at Putman Pest Management. In addition to Greenville and Taylors, it has branches in Anderson, S.C., and Cornelia, Ga.

Smith said his desire is to strategically expand the Compass footprint and promote the Compass Pest Management brand along the I-85 corridor. Nicknamed “the Boom Belt,” it is considered to be one of America’s most sought-after regions to live and work.
